Outpatient mental health care

Outpatient mental health services at Virginia Treatment Center for Children

At Virginia Treatment Center for Children, we are committed to offering comprehensive and compassionate care to support the mental health and well-being of our patients and their families. We know treatment works. We're transforming pediatric mental health care by defeating the stigma and treating families with compassion, respect and clinical expertise.

We offer a comprehensive array of evaluations and treatments for mental health concerns. Our team of psychologists and behavioral health clinicians conduct thorough evaluations, offer medication management services and deliver tailored, individual and group therapy to meet the unique needs of each child. With expertise in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), parent management training (PMT), family therapy and other evidence-based interventions, our professionals are specially equipped to provide effective care.

Examples of research studies include:

  • Differences in behavior, emotions and learning in ASD
  • Children with or at risk for bipolar disorder
  • Fostering wellbeing
  • Impulsive/reactive aggression in children
